December YAPI News and Notes
The thing I like about YAPI and the reason why I continue to provide this community service is that it’s always such a surprise to see who shows up to participate. I never know who will be there but I’m always glad that I hosted it.
December YAPI was pretty special. Alex Aston came back to perform. He had not been to YAPI in a while but he has been coming to YAPI off and on since he was 9! Now, he’s in the process of recording his CD. He plays and sings all original material. He played a song about life being at bat in a baseball game and we have to take a swing at it. It was a great song! I say, Alex, keep on swingin’! Great song. He sang several great original songs. Alex has a style of his own. I look forward to his future as a musician.
Another thing that was special about December YAPI was that we had a new 11 year old performer, Ryland Maples. Now, this girl can SING! Ryland sang and played guitar like a pro. It was a great night for the YAPI audience because we were able to enjoy several songs performed by Alex, then Ryland, then Alex and Ryland again. It was a concert featuring these two performers. They both said they would be back in January! I’ll look forward to that and I hope they will be joined by other YAPI performers.
Thanks to the December YAPI audience! Thanks to Alex for helping me with the sound equipment. A great big “thank you” to DuAnne Redus, owner of Maui Wowi, for supporting YAPI. It’s nice to have an appropriate venue for YAPI.
Thanks also to all those special people who forward this on and help get the word out about YAPI!
