October YAPI News and Notes
Only three performers participated in November YAPI but they were three very entertaining performers. Two of them were newcomers: Ian McIntosh and Dillon Havins. Each held their own as solo performers, singing guitar and playing. But, they also did some songs as a duo in several different configurations. They traded off playing lead and rhythm guitar for each other and at one point, Dillon just sang while being accompanied by Ian on acoustic guitar. Dillon is a very charismatic performer and whether he is just singing or playing guitar he really knows how to use the mic and his guitar to put on a show! It was very fun to watch both of these newcomers perform. Dillon also has some great original songs. We really hope they come back to YAPI!
Alex Aston was the third performer. Alex performed all original music. His instrumental guitar compositions are very original and groovy and they rock! Alex also has some original songs he sings and plays. Alex has been coming to YAPI off and on over the years and it is always a real treat when he walks in with his guitar. He is working on a recording and I highly recommend anyone reading this get a copy!
All of the November YAPI performers are young performers who have a future in performing if they would choose that! Dillon is already taking advantage of other performance opportunities all over the Texas Hill Country and Austin.
We’ve had so many talented performers at YAPI in 2011. It’d be great to get them all there at one time, but that’s the nature of YAPI; you never know what to expect.

Everyone is invited back to the next YAPI, the first Thursday in December, December 1. We look forward to another great YAPI event.
We’re very grateful to owner, DuAnne Redus, for allowing Maui Wowi to be the host venue for YAPI and for encouraging youth to participate.
Thanks for your ongoing support of this unique YAPI monthly community service event which has been serving Wimberley area youth since 2003!
