YAPI May News and Notes
Three teenage YAPI performers came to perform in May from whom we had not heard for a while. It was great to hear Walker Pickens and Bonnie Sturdivant who are graduating from Wimberley High. Walker has been performing at YAPI off and on since its conception in 2003 and his participation has been appreciated! We wish Bonnie and Walker much success as they go off to college. It was also great to hear Malcolm Byers who has one more year left at Wimberley High and we hope he will continue to participate in YAPI during that year.
Noah Liska played some rockin’ guitar solos and we are already seeing growth in his performance skills and presentation. It is exciting to watch these young performers grow as performers. Everyone enjoyed Brandon and Joshua Hayes and their piano solos. Joshua is quite the “ham” on stage. Although they are moving, we have appreciated their participation.
YAPI takes place on the first Thursday of every month August through May at Maui Wowi in Wimberley, TX. YAPI will be on break until August and we look forward to another exciting and fun YAPI season. So, mark your calendars for YAPI on August 7.
All age 19 and under performers encompassing all levels of experience and talent are welcome to participate in the Young Artist Performance Incubator. YAPI provides a safe and supportive environment for youth to get performance experience with a sound system, to hone their performance and artistic skills, and to share their talents with their families and peers.
If you are reading this and would like to be added to the YAPI email list, or if you know of anyone who would like to be added to this list, please email your/their name and email address to BFreed1@earthlink.net with "Add to YAPI Mailing List" as the subject. Brenda will send only YAPI email reminders and news following each YAPI.
