April YAPI News and Notes
The big news is that YAPI is now on Facebook and gaining more fans every week! So if you are reading this, please go search for YAPI Young Artist Performance Incubator on Facebook and “Like” and become a “Fan”!
April YAPI was fun. All performers were YAPI regulars but everyone performed material mostly new to the YAPI audience. Demitri Hendry was the only performer in the 12 and under category but he is doing such a good job of introducing and playing his piano solos like a pro. It is fun to hear how he is progressing in his piano studies month to month. We welcome more younger YAPI participants so spread the word!
This steady progression of honing their skills is true of all the YAPI performers. The Katy Fachorn and Rory Hancock duo is continually presenting new material at YAPI. Katy is writing quite a bit and her singing! Quite a voice is coming out of this young lady. Rory and Parker seem to be having a good time working up new material. Rory is becoming quite the multi-instrumentalist. He is now playing bass for Katy and Parker, adding bass to his guitar and ukulele skills. Rory is also singing more and more. Parker is quite the performer with not only his music skills but his sense of humor.
And then there is Abby. Abby performs originals and covers and becomes more confident with every YAPI performance. She has definitely found her voice and is doing a great job of expressing it! Come out and hear her originals and covers.
Special thanks to Rory and Demitri’s dad for being so helpful with the sound system. It makes YAPI so much easier! We are also thankful for Maui Wowi continuing to be the host venue.
Everyone is invited back to the next YAPI, the first Thursday in May, May 5th. May will be the last YAPI hosted by Brenda until August due to conflicts so let’s make it good one with lots of performers
Thanks for your ongoing support of this unique YAPI monthly community service event which has been serving Wimberley area youth since 2003!
