January YAPI News and Notes
What a great way to kick off 2011! There were five performers and Katy Fachorn and Abby Wetzel each did a lot of original material. The YAPI audience is hearing more and more original material from YAPI performers. It is so fun and exciting to see/hear these young performers be inspired by each other and the opportunity to perform their original material. I have invited these young songwriters to submit some of their lyrics to post on the site to share with people who visit the site. I hope to get some lyrics submitted because some of the lines are GREAT!
Natalie Shanklin is a performer not to be missed! Her voice fills the room! Rory Hancock is becoming quite the guitar player accompanying himself and playing lead and fills for his sister, Katy Fachorn. The two siblings on stage together are really fun to watch.
Special thanks to Justin, Maui Wowi employee, who helped set up the sound equipment, and Rory for helping to put it away. Help with the piano and speakers is always welcomed, as well as putting the other parts of the sound equipment away.
Watch for YAPI on Facebook coming soon!
Everyone is invited back to the next YAPI, the first Thursday in February, February 3rd. Let’s try to keep this level of participation going throughout 2011! It makes it more fun for everyone involved, and the goal is to serve as many Wimberley area youth as possible with this unique YAPI monthly community service event.
