YAPI September Notes
WOW! What a wonderful YAPI night! Great performers! Great audience crowd! We heard original material new to us by Delissa Walsh, Zane Gordon-Bouzard, and Lara Hardeman.  Thank you to ALL who performed and attended. The back of Idlewild was full. A big thank you to Alex at Idlewild for being willing to keep Idlewild open for YAPI the first Thursday of every month when they are otherwise closing at 3 PM. A special thanks to Madonna Kimball from the Hill Country Sun and the Wimberley Guide for coming to hear the YAPI performances and for taking pictures.

YAPI September News
Idlewild donated a pizza to one performer in each age group who brought in the most NEW first time YAPI performers.

Free Pizza winners were Olivia Clermont for the 12 and under group for bringing in Carley Rich.  Lara Hardeman, Allison Lockett and Ellen Flocke will share a pizza for the 13-19 age group for bringing in Zane Gordon-Bouzard.  Congratulations to all the winners! I have your certificates at my Creative Endeavors Studio. Carley and Zane were a wonderful addition to the YAPI evening. Thanks to both of you for performing and please come back.

Soon we will be moving YAPI to a bigger stage behind Idlewild.  It means more space for performing. It can even accommodate small dance groups. Spread the word about that. Idlewild has asked for volunteers to decorate the new stage area. Please email Brenda at BFreed1@earthlink.net if any local young artists want to help decorate.

Sunday, September 12, 3pm-5pm, the Wimberley Concert Association is producing a Young Talent Showcase at Chapel in the Hills on RR12 in Wimberley, Texas. Performers will be past YAPI performers Ellen’s Brother (the band) and Sahara Smith. Other performers will be Sarah Jarosz and Alex Meek. It will be a great afternoon with a variety of music by these young performers. There will also be art by young artists as well. Please spread the word about this event. All students have free admission. Adults are $5.00 at the door.

Please continue to spread the word about the Young Artist Performance Incubator. YAPI provides a safe and supportive environment for young people who want to share their talents and explore performing. .

If you are reading this and would like to be added to the YAPI email list, or if you know of anyone who would like to be added to this list, please email your/their name and email address to BFreed1@earthlink.net with “add to YAPI Mailing List” as the subject. Brenda will send 2 emails/month: YAPI email reminders and news following each YAPI.
